Travel Information

Season. In Australia, the opposite is true: summer is from November to March, and winter is from May to September. The best time to travel is our winter.

Visa. A tourist costs $ 33 and is done without much hassle in ten days. How to get there. Most major airlines fly to Australia, both European (via London, Vienna, Amsterdam, etc., a little longer), and Asian (via Singapore, Korea, the United Arab Emirates, etc., which is shorter). I liked flying the Japanese company JAL: 18 hours with an overnight stay or a day trip to Tokyo – exciting, convenient (you have time to relax) and reliable. Continue reading

Wines of Australia

The wine industry is the most dynamic industry in the Australian economy, and has undergone major changes over the past 40 years. If in the 50s the average Australian drank only one glass of wine a year, now he drinks about two bottles.

It should be noted that in 1965 the number of winemakers was very small, only six campaigns were engaged in the production of table wine, but by 1999 their number had increased to 109. Now Australia’s share in the world wine market is 2%, but by 2025 the goal is to achieve 6.5% . Continue reading

Australian cuisine

Australian cuisine is one of the most exotic and diverse in the world. Its possibilities range from meat pies and vegetarian sandwiches to kangaroo fillets with young beetroot shoots and fried onions.

Emigrants from all over the world brought their culinary preferences to Australia, the kitchen combined east and west, and also brought its ancient traditions, the success was tremendous. Continue reading

Australia. Leichgardt

By sending Sir Arthur Phillip and the first batch of convicts to explore Australia, the British government had little idea where these people were going. The only reliable information about the new southern land in 1787 could be considered the report of Captain James Cook, made by him, however, 18 years before the arrival of the first English fleet in Australia.

The brilliant discoverer described in detail everything that he managed to see on the amazing continent of Aborigines and kangaroos. The only drawback was that all of these descriptions concerned an exceptionally narrow strip of the east coast of the continent from present Sydney to a large barrier reef and Carpentaria Bay. Of course, Cook did not reach the interior of the mainland. After all, he was still a navigator, and did not have the opportunity to explore such a large land. In fairness, it should be noted that even if he tried to do this, he would most likely fail. Continue reading
